He also wants to build a firm culture that leaves his staff excited to come back to work the next day. He plans to utilize technology to help create a more success-ful and efficient firm. He wants to harness these tools to provide better services to clients and more flexibility for the firm’s at-torneys. He hopes this will help the attorneys achieve more bal-anced lives. “I definitely don’t want the staff to feel like they’re ‘married to the office,’” Thrush says. Beyond his immediate plans, his overall goal is to build a sus-tainable firm for future generations. When he passes the torch to his successor, he wants to leave the firm better than he found it. “I always tell myself and our attorneys not to forget why,” Thrush says. “You can never lose sight of why you decided to become a lawyer. It’s difficult sometimes. There is always the business side of the practice, pulling you away from your true purpose. Despite all the harsh realities and the distractions, you can still help.” The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Board of Trustees, 2015-Present Concert for Hope, Hopewell Cancer Support, Event Committee, 2015-Present University of Maryland School of Law, Adjunct Professor Legal Analysis, Research and Writing I and II, 2002-2010 University of Maryland at College Park, Instructor University of Maryland Mock Trial Team, Coach, 1993-1994 Commercial Law League of America, Lecturer, 2012, 2013, 2016 SELECT HONORS Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating Better Business Bureau A+ Rating SmartCEO Magazine Law Firm of the Year, 2015 Smart CEO Corporate Culture Award, 2015 American Lawyer Media, Top Lawyer in Maryland, 2013 American Jurisprudence Award Recipient, Legal Analysis, Research and Writing, 1991 HOBBIES Snowboarding, Mountain Biking, Coaching Youth Lacrosse, Scuba Diving & Learning Guitar Favorite Quote Being on par in terms of price and quality only gets you into the game.
